"The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary" - Vidal Sasson

Art can be described in terms such as : Color; depth; shape; swirl; form; line; shadow; intensity; contrast; liquid; hue; tone; emotion;

My love of art started at an early age when I was mentored by an uncle who is a professional artist. I attribute a lot of my art intuition to him. I started off with water color and also played around with clay sculpture. But clay was so messy my mom basically banned it from the house! So I focused my attention on water colors. Later in my teens I discovered pastel oils and I have used them ever since. Pastel oils are challenging to use but once you get the hang of it they are fun. About five years ago, I decided to try acrylics for larger paintings and I found them to be quite effective. As I result, I have done a series of paintings using acrylics and you can see them in the gallery. I have also used materials such as copper wire, feathers, leaves, and cloth to create collage-paintings. "Linda's Vase" in the gallery is an example where I used copper wire and feathers. My goal in painting and creating works of art is: to share them with family and friends, and to have enough pieces to exhibit at a gallery someday.
